  Yup. In retrospect it's quite embarrassing.

  But perhaps it shouldn't be. Maybe it's just that the psychological manipulation they use works and it wasn't our fault for buying it.

  Why would folks already out and with no intention of going back in be reluctant to give names (via PM, of course, not on the public Interwebz)?

  I understand a fader's need to protect him/herself from the inquisitors but if you're already DFd and not going back, is there any reason not to give out your name to like-minded individuals?

  (I need to know this for when they finally catch up with me and I'm DFd...to name or not to name myself here)

  indeed, this is the riddle.

  but since i've nothing to offer anyone, i'd prefer to draw people towards jesus and away from blindly trusting men.

  i think most anyone who has been one of jehovah's witnesses and challenged their beliefs (subsequently watching them fall like a house of cards) would probably feel the same, assuming they didn't just give up on religion altogether.. i find myself in a rather unexpected position.

  You got it, OTWO. For most it won't be the last straw but for some it will be. For others it will be just another straw added to the pile on the camel's back, only to finally break years later. And for some, it might just be the first seed. Regardless, it's a step in the right direction for many.

  ok so i dont believe in the bible anymore, but i what about all the prophecies that were "fullfilled" by jesus and all of the other fulfilled prophesis of bible?.

  I'm still pretty early in fade-mode myself, and would also appreciate some links or names of good reference sources debunking the Bible. In all the (admittedly biased) things I've read the Bible is considered as accurate a history source as any other. I kind of knew that the "All Scripture" book by the WTS isn't exactly gospel, but somebody throw us noobs a bone of where else to look.

  KM Meeting tonight guilt trip for late comers

  mrs mattieu went running out the doors with kids in tow (yes, i helped them get ready) in state of panic because tonights km part is all about showing respect for being taught by jehovah by being early to the meetings and how latecomers should be put before a judicial committee.

  ok, made that last bit up.. i used to hate these parts on being late to the meetings as most would judge the late comers without fully understanding their work/family/health issues.. i dont have her km with me, but it mentioned that being late is something that should not be a regular occurrence and that we should be early to sit down and be ready to be taught by jehovah.. not sure if this article is particular to the australian km or being used worldwide, though will try and scan it through tomorrow.. mattieu...... .

  just looked through some of the largest populations in the world and ten of them add up to 3,500,000,000. how many witnesses serve these 10 countries.

  no more than 60,000. the largest are china and india which together have around 2.5 billion people.

  so is the jw good news being spread earthwide.

  And I love how they try to compare Matthew 10:23 about not completing the circuit of cities of Israel before the Son of Man arrives. But according to the WT, he ALREADY ARRIVED invisibly in 1914 and has BEEN PRESENT ever since. Yet another ridiculous pretzel twist from the scholars in Brooklyn.

  with april's rediculous generation renewal, the hyped 2012, then the 100th aniversary of 1914 two years later, the continued increase and spread of internet use, the age of the gb, and the lackluster of the rank n file, i give it 8-10 years before the whole show collapses.. .

  I think the best we can hope for would be some sort of legal and/or financial collapse but that's extremely unlikely.

  More hopeful is that the numbers have reached their peak and that they will slowly shrink and fade into an even more marginal kook fringe cult than they already are. I think we're about there right now.

  For those that dismiss 1914 as no longer relevant because of the generation teaching, we have to remember that the ONLY reason these clowns in Brooklyn are in charge of anything is because of Christ's invisible return in 1914. They can't drop that no matter how they rewrite the dictionary. Therefore, 2014 is a psychological obstacle that many long-time JWs are going to have to deal with. Most will just ride it on through, but there will be a number for whom 100 years of invisible Jesus will hit hard.

  So the Bible says the good news must be preached "in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations" but the WT says "the good news must be preached to Jehovah's satisfaction."

  Who do you serve and who do you trust?

  IT CAN'T BE BOTH.
